HCL Software Acquires Zeenea to Enhance Data Catalog and Governance Solutions
HCLSoftware, the software business division of HCLTech, has announced its intent to acquire Zeenea, a data catalog and governance solutions innovator based in Paris, France. The acquisition aims to bolster HCLSoftwares Data & Analytics business (Actian) by adding metadata management, data catalog, and governance capabilities to enhance the Actian Data Platform. This strategic move is expected to accelerate the GenAI and Data Engineering roadmap for HCLSoftware customers.
Zeenea provides an intelligent data discovery platform powered by an adaptive knowledge graph that facilitates metadata management applications such as data catalog, lineage, governance, compliance, and enterprise data marketplace. By joining forces with Zeenea, HCLSoftware aims to offer a unified data intelligence solution that enables enterprises to better manage, connect, and leverage their data assets in their data engineering and GenAI initiatives.
Kalyan Kumar, Chief Product Officer at HCLSoftware, highlighted the importance of metadata management in accelerating GenAI initiatives across business functions, emphasizing that Zeeneas capabilities will further grow HCLSoftwares presence in the data and analytics space. The acquisition is expected to close in September 2024 and will position HCLSoftware to provide a comprehensive data management solution for datadriven enterprises.
Marc Potter, CEO of Actian & Portfolio General Manager of HCLSoftwares Data & Analytics business, mentioned that Zeeneas data catalog and governance capabilities will expand their portfolio to offer a holistic, singlevendor solution to meet the diverse data needs of enterprises.
