Skild AI Secures $300M Series A Funding Round
Skild AI, an AI robotics company, has closed a $300M Series A funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Coatue, SoftBank Group, and Jeff Bezos (through Bezos Expeditions). Other participants include Felicis Ventures, Sequoia, Menlo Ventures, General Catalyst, CRV, Amazon, SV Angel, and Carnegie Mellon University. The funding brings Skild AI to a valuation of $1.5B.
The funding will be used to scale the companys model and training datasets for future commercial deployment of its technology, as well as hiring across AI, robotics, engineering, operations, and security.
Skild AI is building intelligence grounded in the physical world and aiming to revolutionize robotics with a shared, generalpurpose brain for a diverse range of robots and tasks. The companys founders, Deepak Pathak and Abhinav Gupta, boast significant experience in robotics and AI, with multiple industry breakthroughs to their credit.
Skild AIs longterm goal is to develop artificial general intelligence (AGI) rooted in the physical world, challenging traditional notions of AGI solely arising from digital knowledge.
